The very best time to visit is in the spring or fall. Temperatures are moderate and area attractions won't be as crowded. If you're strictly going for the spa, anytime will be fine.

I grew up in the Hill Country so I'm kind of partial to it. It's beautiful in spring with wild flowers, including the state flower - bluebonnets, blooming everywhere. You'll find awesome spa resorts in Austin, Barton Springs and Fredericksburg with plenty of area attractions in case you get tired of being pampered.

San Antonio, in South Texas, boasts the world famous river walk. You can also visit the Alamo, Hemisphere Plaza and shop to your heart's content.

Gulf Coast waters are warm. Galveston Island has a great beach, plenty to see and do. Houston, one of the largest cities in the United States, is close by and home to the NASA Space Center.

Prairies and Lakes region includes the Dallas/Ft Worth area. You'll find a nice choice of spa resorts, boutique and historic spa hotels and fitness spas. A major international airport makes it easy to get here. Attractions include Six Flags, The West End, Fair Park, The Galleria Mall, Cowboy Stadium and Ranger Stadium to name just a few.

Big Bend Country is in West Texas near El Paso. If you want a remote get away, this is the place to come. Bordered by the Rio Grande River, Big Bend National Park offers hiking, backpacking, rafting, bird watching and horseback riding.
